Item Description
1-5/8” tall brass shield with red and black accent enamel paint. These were a favorite in the 1930s and others were produced for Popeye and Mickey Mouse. In all cases, we’ve seen just 2 or 3 for each character and design. On this example he is a fireman holding a hose connected to a hydrant with his helmet in the foreground and city buildings outlined in the bkg. A number of tiny dots off the black paint of the lower half of his body but these are very small and minor with vast majority of paint and luster remaining. Our only other example exceeded $400. See following police example. There is also an aviator known in the series.
