Item Description
Has the earliest Disney copyright of 1928 but actually from the early 1930s. 7” tall wood body with flexible sturdy metal arms and legs. Has fabric-covered wire tail with wood tip. Comes with loose and well worn original cardboard ears but figure also has professionally crafted replacement ears (which we had made) now placed on the figure. Mickey is variety in green pants rather than red. Has complete decal on chest, underside of each foot also has complete decal, one with company name and the other of distributor Borgfeldt/Nifty. Comes with original box nicely illustrated on all 4 panels plus end flaps with different images of Mickey and Minnie. Box is specifically for Mickey with his name on two side panels. Obvious wear and aging with large moisture staining, loose end flaps but all are here so box could be reconstructed if desired. As is, just comes along. Front of left foot has area with some paint wear. Body has some other tiny traces of paint wear but more so on back than front, however still retains a bright and clean appearance overall. This and the matching Minnie (see item #2070) were obtained from the original owner that acquired these in the early 1930s.
