Item Description
Stiff art paper c. 1980s has 8-1/8x8-1/8” image area in ink and black marker of night scene showing men w/hats and trench coats w/one holding gun on other two and grabbing their satchel as little boy watches. Signed “Alex Toth” in ink near bottom. Sheet has clear acetate protective sheet taped in place on top and bottom of reverse side, image area Exc. Wonderful atmospheric image w/superb use of light and shadow by a gifted comic book artist noted for his work on “Zorro” and other Dell comics and animation for Hanna-Barbera. Possibly unpublished. This was a gift from “Mad” editor Jerry DeFucchio to Bob Overstreet. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection. Comes with COA.
