Standing at far left is Satchel Paige while other players include Cuban HOF members Lazaro Salazar and Silvio Garcia in addition to Rodolfo Fernandez. This is believed to be an early season version of the Ciudad Trujillo powerhouse team that would ultimately claim the postseason title that year with All-Time Negro League greats Josh Gibson & Cool Papa Bell who joined that roster later in the season. 1937 was the only season that Satchel Paige was documented as playing in the Dominican Republic. All of these players are known to have played on the famous Ciudad Trujillo team in 1937 as documented on the season-long run of scorecards offered as our next lot, item #1078. Obvious wear including creases, small margin tears and few edge flakes. Reverse has paper adhered from scrap book mounting.
