Big 2.75” oval reads “Roosevelt/Homecoming 1947/Hello Henry!” The original owner very light scratched into the celluloid the word “With” above the printed text “Hello Henry!” and they also made some faint cross out marks over the letter “O” of “Hello” thus creating their version of the slogan, although seen only on rather close inspection, as “Roosevelt/Homecoming 1947/With Hell Henry!” We know of only three other late 1930s-1940s buttons picturing this character and one of those like this is a high school button, in that case done for a graduating class. Button remains bright, clean and glossy. A very rare local issue and the only example we’ve seen.
