Auction #216 - Part II
Item numbers 978 through 2735 in auction 216
Item Description
1.25” superb multi-color showing early twentieth century bathing beauty seated above ocean waters on a piling accented by a brass mooring ring on its side. Reverse has Bastian paper used between 1907 and 1920 although this button is certainly from the earlier years. A magnificent button on the top ten list of many collectors. Reverse has a tiny 1/8” hairline dent across the collet. Cello has numerous short and extremely light diagonal surface scratches that show some in reflected light. Under most viewing conditions the button displays Mint with great design, top quality color and full gloss. The first we’ve been able to offer since back in Auction #180 which had a result of $500. Rarely offered.
