Item Description
2.5x3.75" card stock ticket reading "For The Review Stand No. 3. Admit The Bearer By Command Of Major General Augur:" and boldly signed by Ed. W. Smith "Ass't Adj't General". The "Grand Review Of The Armies" occurred May 23-24, 1865 when Gen. Meade's and Gen. Sherman's troops staged a victory parade through the streets of Washington D.C. Ticket has handling wear and light gray toning at edges. Reverse has pencil inscription "May 22 and 23, 1865 and pen notation that is partially covered by paper remnants from scrap book mounting. No creases or folds and color remains bright and fresh. Fine. Rare.
