Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains 10.75" tall tin litho figure clothed in fabric outfit w/faux fur hair and hardened rubbers ears and arms. Figure is stereotypical depiction of Afro-Caribbean man holding separately attached cardboard conga drum w/facsimile alligator skin wrap. Made in Japan by Linemar, 1950s. Box is complete w/original packing paper and has interior corner tape repairs. Even aging w/some handling wear. Still tight and Fine/VF. Figure has 5.25" long dark brown painted tin remote control attached via wire. All functions work, including walking, eyes light as head moves and he vigorously beats on his drum. Rubber ears (often missing) are both present, though one has darkened w/age. Arms are free of stresslines/cracks. Missing separate straw hat, but this is easily replaced. Some scattered paint nicks/scratches centered mainly around his feet and bottom or remote control. VF/Exc. overall. Classic Linemar toy.
