Item Description
Certificate and membership kits for this club were issued in many different configurations from 1939 to 1965, including varieties issued during the first year. We offered several 1939 certificate varieties in our last auction and this 8.5x11" certificate on rarely seen textured paper differs from those w/1939 copyright at lower left. E 3965 certificate number and penciled member name/age/address on provided lines. Horizontal fold at center as issued. Text in body of certificates do not mention "Action Comics." Left margin has some minor vertical creases. VF overall. Comes w/5.5x9" cardstock folder featuring decoder used to decipher "Superman's Secret Message" in each issue of "Action Comics." Also 1939 and from first year of club. Front of folder also has iconic image of Superman breaking chains. Folded as issued w/no penciling. Some lt. handling wear but VF overall.
