Item Description
11-5/8x18" thin artboard w/India ink art by Charles "Doc" Winner. Art is for Sept. 12, 1937 and features total 12 panels (counting both title panels, each having title pasteovers). Top row of panels are for "Daffy Doodles," a collection of single panel gags consisting of "Dizzy Thoughts From Our Readers." These are mostly word play in nature. Last panel has some staining, but not overly distracting. "Alexander Smart, Esq." page consists of six panels, featuring boys chasing escaped chicken only for Alexander to step in to show them how it's done. A chase ensues and Alexander catches chicken, but is noticed by policeman, who mentions bout of chicken thievery going on lately, hauling him off to court. Last panel has King Features Syndicate copyright strip. Back has pasted printer's label and front margins have a printer centering labels. Pin holes along top margin and some minor scattered lt. staining. Fine/VF overall w/VF to Exc. art.
