Item Description
A number of different styles of Seven Dwarf dolls were made by both Ideal and Knickerbocker between 1938 and 1940. This particular 12" tall Dopey doll is among the nicest made, featuring a formed and starched linen face w/wonderfully painted details, stuffed cloth body, cotton ears and hands, velveteen hat (w/"Dopey" name on the front), shirt, pants and shoes. Comes w/original leatherette belt w/metal buckle. Trace scattered aging w/insect damage to single felt shirt button (which could easily be removed/replaced). Aside from button issue, condition is exceptional for this doll, w/only slightest wear to cheeks and nose. Exc. Comes w/original window display box w/"Dopey" name stamped on bottom. Cellophane window shows obvious wear w/several splits and box has scattered edge/corner tip wear. Fine overall.
