Item Description
First is Hake AL # 3144 and second is Hake AL #3145. While both are hand painted and read "Union" the first is embossed brass with border of small stars outlining the shield while the second is die-cut slightly convex tin executed in rwb and detailed by 13 small painted stars to represent the original 13 colonies,  plus "Union" is lettered in bright yellow. The brass shield is 1" wide with soldered brass pin and the tin shield is 1-1/8" wide soldered silvered pin. Both are essentially Mint as made, the only examples known to us and pictured on page 64 of Hake Book III.
