Item Description
The "King Leonardo And His Short Subjects" cartoon was introduced in 1960 by Total Television (which would later rename itself Leonardo Productions after the main character of this show) and was sponsored by General Mills. Offered here is 9x12" board w/attached sheet of vellum w/lead pencil original art for King Leonardo Collegeville Halloween mask, featuring handwritten measurements in pencil at bottom corners. Pin hole at top center of vellum sheet, which has some scattered dust soiling and handling wear. Fine/VF overall. Comes w/8.25x10-7/8" high relief heavy cast metal injection mold for King Leonardo mask, w/"Leonardo Lion" name written in blue marker on large chin, along w/"2-61" date. Center of forehead has filled in hole w/surface smoothing, as do cheeks. Fine overall. Lot also includes 8.5x11" high relief thin Vacuform plastic mask is final production sample w/o embossed copyright information that was then added to the production pieces. .75" crack at lower left and some scattered surface marks and tiny edge cracks to crown.
