Item Description
Large and impressive 27x38" die-cut cardboard standee features photo image of boy wearing beanie covered in "Pep" premium pins that were offered as box inserts in boxes of Kellogg's "Pep" cereal in 1945. Boy is surrounded by vast array of the buttons, w/comic characters including - Superman, Smilin' Jack, Smokey Stover, Moon Mullins, Harold Teen, Dick Tracy, Skeezix, Smitty and others. Standee has slight outward warp and has been professionally mounted to heavy board and has had some scattered professional restoration as follows - top promotional text block has restoration to entire white portion (w/tiny scuff at bottom left) as has front panel of cereal box image at lower right (which has also had some cleaning to button images of front of box), repair to 7.25" long diagonal tear at bottom center and brown area at bottom has been completely repainted. Standee surface has had scattered spot cleaning and now displays VF as restored. Very rare and extremely desirable display. One of just three known examples. A must have for both advertising and Pep pin collectors. This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
