Item Description
The 1939 World Series saw the New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds square off for the championship.The Yankees won the series in four games. Lot includes 8.75x11.25" program w/32 pages featuring typical sports program advertisements throughout as well as photos/biographies of players including Yankees captain Lou Gehrig (who is featured on front cover during his days as a player) as well as photos of Yankee Stadium and Crosley Field. Some small pencil notations throughout and program has vertical fold at center. Scattered spine/corner wear. VG/Fine. Comes w/2.25x4" ticket stub for Games 1, which was originally schedule for Oct. 1, 1939. Game 1 was postponed until Oct. 4 due to rain. The Yankees won Game 1, 2-1. Ticket is for upper grandstand seat that originally cost $3. Bottom edge is uneven as removed but o/w stub is VF.
