Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8 vintage silver gelatin matte postcard depicting 14 ballplayers in full uniform posed in front of stadium seating. Photographer's credit in the lower right-hand corner reads "Crawford Studios, Norfolk". Caption at bottom of photo reads "Norfolk Base Ball Club 1932" along with the last name of all individuals pictured. The 1932 Norfolk Elkhorns finished in first place in the Class D Nebraska State League with an amazing record of 75-35 under manager, Joe McDermott. A total of four future Major League ballplayers were part of this team, including: Oris Hockett, Hal Luby, Les Rock and Chick Starr.  Divided back remains blank and unused, the number "21151" has been neatly written in ink at bottom along with a few spots of foxing visible. VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
