Item Description
12.25x19" artboard features pen and ink original art (w/blue pencil accents) for one-page "Two Of A Kind" comic story by Alex Toth (1928-2006), a cartoonist known for his works in both comic books as well as for his various Hanna-Barbera cartoon character designs. Toth is especially noted for his masterful use of shadow, which is in full display w/the cartoon published in DRAG Cartoons #7 in 1964. Artboard features six panels, showing speeding hot rods racing past two motorcycle policemen, who quickly give chase, eager to apprehend "Those Two Squirrelly Punks." After a multi-panel chase, last panel features great reveal that the cars are actually being driven by large squirrels, much to the policemen's shock. Toth has signed second to last panel. Top margin has handwritten "'Two Of A Kind' One Pager/Complete Art And Lettering/Artist: Alexander Toth" going on to give his address, all written in red felt tip pen. Page number and publishing notes at bottom margin in black felt tip pen. Artboard has some staple holes top and left margins, but art remains clean and Exc.
