Item Description
Cotton souvenir t-shirt from the "Sunshine Jam" concert benefit performance for Carter. Size Large. Text at bottom of design on front reads "Paid for by the Jimmy Carter for President Campaign R.J. Lipshutz Treasurer." The concert was held on July 10, 1976 in Tampa, Florida at the Gator Bowl Stadium. The line up for the concert was: The Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Charlie Daniels Bands, the Outlaws, and 38 Special. Over 30,000 attended the concert and the $300,000 in proceeds went to the Carter campaign. The shirt is signed by Henry Paul and Monte Yoho, the lead guitarist and drummer of the Outlaws. The shirt has a few scattered small holes and a few light stains from use. Scattered tearing in the collar. Otherwise, some fading and moderate wear. Fine. An interesting piece intersecting music and politics.
