Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting 10 team members in full uniform along with two gentlemen dressed in formal attire posed on a ballfield in front of a throng of adoring fans with period baseball equipment in the foreground. We have been unable to identify the team pictured but the logo of uniform chest reads "LM". Based on the uniform style, we believe this was most likely a 1920's Cuban baseball amateur or semi-pro team. Postcard exhibits some staining along with a .25" crease in upper right-hand corner, otherwise moderate, even corner wear. .50" obscured image along right edge, center. Divided postcard back exhibits scattered staining and remains blank and unused. AZO stamp box dates the postcard to 1910-30, which is consistent with the subject matter pictured. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
