Item Description
The 48 card "Cartoon Adventures" set was issued in 1936 by an unknown manufacturer but believed to be the same as the Cartoon Comics set. These strip cards are 2.5x2-7/8" w/full color art fronts and blank backs, copyright either John F. Dille Co. or Stephen Slesinger. ACC# R28. There are 48 cards in the set, numbered 401-448. Buck Rogers dominates the set w/the most cards (24), numbered 425-448. There are also eight card subsets for - Broncho Bill, Tailspin Tommy and Tarzan. Great art throughout. All gave been graded by PSA and the GPA weighted average is 5.45 ranking it as the #2 current finest set in their registry. A classic non-sport set. Full list of grades is as follows -
2 in NM 7 - Card numbers are 410 and 444
3 in EX-MT+ 6.5 - Card number are 405, 412 and 420
16 in EX-MT 6 - Card numbers are 402-403, 407-408, 413-414, 428-431, 434, 436, 438-440, 446
23 in EX 5- Card numbers are 404, 406, 409, 411, 415-419, 422-424, 426-427, 432-433, 435, 437, 441, 443, 445 and 447-448
3 in VG-EX+ 4.5 - Card numbers are 401, 425 and 442
1 in VG+ 3.5 - Card number is 421
