Item Description
16x20". Appointment dated April 17, 1906. Appointment of Christian H. Sheets to the position of postmaster of Braddock, in Allegheny County, PA. Signed by President Theodore Roosevelt and Postmaster General George B. Cortelyou on May 8, 1906. Faint moisture stains along the bottom edge, otherwise some light scattered creasing and light edge wear. VF, will frame to Exc. Cortelyou was the first U.S. Secretary of Commerce and Labor from 1903 to 1904 before being appointed Postmaster General in 1905. He went on to serve as Roosevelt's Treasury Secretary from 1907 until 1909. Comes w/JSA LOA.
