Item Description
2" litho for convention "July 2-5/1937/Milwaukee, Wis." This group comprising American youth was formed in 1935 and apparently held annual conventions as we have seen one other version stating the rank of "Representative." Eleanor Roosevelt supported the group although in 1939 the Dies Committee subpoenaed its leaders, a core from the Young Communist League. Mrs. Roosevelt attended those hearings and invited the witnesses to board at the White House. During one convention, some joined Mrs. Roosevelt for a picnic on the White House lawn. This button has a couple of small paint chips on its upper edge and has been very slightly flattened along its extreme left edge around the words "I Am." Still displays nicely. A very limited issue and first we've seen.
