Item Description
These are largely 5/8" to 1" with one larger in row 1 being a 1-3/8" litho. First is rare button showing brown hand and white hand releasing a peace dove with the slogan "Minute Women For Peace." Reverse has backpaper by Western Badge of Los Angeles. Second is purple on cream "Women's Peace Crusade." This has tiny brown dot on right edge but o/w clean. The litho in row 1 as well as the second and third items in row 2 were issued by "APM" (American Peace Movement). The largest and smallest of these carry a date for a New York City event. There is also a 1939 button for meeting of "American Congress For Peace And Democracy" in D.C. Various others say "Keep America Out Of War" and one of these is issued by "Women's National Committee." Several are inscribed "No Conscription." Row 4, #1 is a rare button showing combination of half a face and half a skull wearing a helmet with text "1940 Shall Not Be 1917/Join The ASU" (American Student Union). This has a tiny cello nick on the numeral "0" of 1940. Button showing gas mask with text "Let's Stay Out" has small black dot lower left as printed. Button promoting veterans payment for WWI soldiers has inscription "No Foreign Wars." Couple of barely noticeable age dots on the bottom edge. Overall group displays Exc. and most of the items are close to Mint. Many seldom seen rarities. Conservative opening bid.
