Item Description
2-1/16” white metal by “Davis Birm.” Obverse has same scene and text as #219. The nose, mouth and one eye of the man are somewhat flat but hardly detectable without magnification. There is a tiny tan dot in the crook of the woman’s arm. Reverse of this piece reads “To Commemorate The Abolition Of Negro Apprenticeship In Jamaica, Barbados, Grenada, St. Vincents, St. Kitts, Nevis, Montserrat & The Virgin Islands By Acts Of The Respective Local Legislatures August 1st 1838.” Numerous but very tiny surface marks on the highly reflective silvered bkg. Near VF.
