He married Mae Yohe in 1894 but they divorced in 1902 after she ran off with Putnam Strong, son of former New York City Mayor William Strong. Mae Yohe wrote a book “The Mystery Of The Hope Diamond” which was published in 1929. Imperial cabinet photo portraits of celebrities are rare in their own right; this one especially so.
