Item Description
c. early 1900s. 7-1/8x11.5” overall. Well dressed Mae wears fur collar and elaborate hat. Mae Yohe was married to Lord Henry Francis who became owner of the Hope Diamond in 1887. He married Mae Yohe in 1894 but they divorced in 1902 after she ran off with Putnam Strong, son of former New York City Mayor William Strong. Mae Yohe wrote a book “The Mystery Of The Hope Diamond” which was published in 1929. Imperial cabinet photo portraits of celebrities are rare in their own right; this one especially so. Trace of lt. scattered surface dust soil. Lower right corner tip has 3/8” diagonal crease. Fine. Scarce.
