Item Description
The credits on this issue read like a who’s who of Silver Age greats. The cover is done by the immortal Gil Kane. No artist was ever able to match his ability to place the Atom in such dangerous situations while keeping the sense of perspective so perfect. The cover is inked by a man who is possibly the best inker that Gil Kane ever worked with, Murphy Anderson. The interior art is done by Kane and Sid Greene. Finally, the story is written by the man many consider to be the most consistently interesting writer in the history of comics, Gardner Fox. Their presence makes an issue such as this one for the ages. One of the highlights of the Silver Age Atom series was the recurring story line known under the blanket title of Time-Pool. Through his friendship with another scientist, The Atom had access to a time-travel device. These stories were big hits with fans and over the years, DC ran several of them. Any issue of the Atom that carries one of these is a treat. The pages are off-white to white. The book is CGC-certified 9.4 (NM). According to the CGC Census, this copy is tied with two others as the second highest certified copy they have seen.
