Item Description
8x11.25" thin cardboard portfolio sleeve contains 88 different bw images by Jaxon (Jack Edward Jackson, 1941–2006), an American cartoonist who is considered by many to be the first underground comix artist. He co-founded the seminal Rip Off Press, which published this limited edition (of 1,000) portfolio in 1970. Art includes several underground scenes and includes nudity. Of note, one page has Jaxon self portrait, another shows hippie character wearing shirt w/Grateful Dead eyeball design, the Zig Zag Man is depicted nude and w/a devil's tail, the Family Dog Indian mascot is depicted several times on one page (Jaxon provided the art for Family Dog concert poster FD-114) and another is entitled "Homage To Hitler" and shows countless skulls. Prints have trace of aging but are NM overall. Portfolio sleeve shows wear/aging and is Fine.
