Item Description
7/8" with name of J.J. Geraghty, Chicago on the reverse, the earliest item we've seen from this company. He was elected Governor of Illinois in 1892 and this button is from his losing effort in 1896 when he was a leader of the progressive wing of Democratic party. Tiny marks on the left side but this is under the celluloid on the paper carrying the image. Reverse has .75" barely visible cello split along the metal back but laying so tight and flat it barely is noticeable. Rare.
