Item Description
Thin art-board has 5x17.75" India ink image area with three panels. Mickey and Minnie are in all three panels and Goofy is in two. Storyline has Mickey and Minnie going to eat at “Goofy’s Sea Food Shack”. They want fresh fish and Goofy gives them fishing rods, saying “Comin’ Right Up…I Hope!” Art is dated 11-1 with 1972 Walt Disney Productions © sticker as well as King Features Syndicate sticker. Bottom margin has bold ink inscription “ Very Best To Frank Grundeen, the Mayor of Duckville- Floyd Gottfredson”. “Duckville” is what the Disney comic strip dept. called Duckberg before the 1970s. It was Duckburg from 1944 on in comic books. Art has applied zipatone dot pattern shading which has tanned as typical over the years, otherwise art is Exc. A superb example and unique special gift to Grundeen (1967-1976 Donald Duck comic strip artist) by Disney’s top comic strip artist who did the Mickey comic strip from May 5, 1930 until he retired in 1975.
