Swindell has also competed in NASCAR and Champ Car competition and attempted to qualify for the 1987 Indianapolis 500. Various brand sponsors featured on sprint car include - Blue Max, Brodix, Chaparral, Motorcraft, Goodyear, Moroso, Sizzler, Carrera Streaker. Goodyear is featured three times and Chaparral is featured twice. "Sammy Swindell" name appears by driver. Art is signed by David Lord, a founding member of the Automotive Fine Arts Society (Lord has added "AFAS" notation behind his signature). Lord won the prestigious AFAS Athena Award for his painting in 1991 and 1993. He has been described by "Automobile Magazine" as "One Of America's Best Painters Of Motor Racing Scenes."
