This big 4" button c. 1950 was worn by food store employees. The limited use of this accounts for its rarity. Brass luster metal back was mounted so that the bar pin is on a diagonal rather than running perfectly horizontal left to right. Front surface has pair of 2" vertical hairlines, probably as printed with those crossing the right brim of his hat and a similar white hairline that begins on his portrait and crosses his hat left of center. There are numerous other smaller and light marks but the only really significant mark is a .5" scratch across the red rim at 3 o'clock. Button still has brilliant color and high gloss. Rare and Fine. Only the second or third we've ever offered in our 49 years.
