This first ever Tom Mix ring was offered by National Chicle Gum. It was advertised on the company's Tom Mix Gum wrapper available for 75 coupons to be cut-out and sent to the company. Upon receipt, the owner became a "Tom Mix Deputy" as stated on the ring's shield and star design. The underside of the ring is inscribed "14 K White Gold Finish". This finish wore off very rapidly and nearly all examples have some degree of loss. This example is the unique (in our experience) exception. Under magnification, we see no loss of the white gold on either the exterior or interior surfaces making this the only example known to us with 100% intact white gold finish. In addition, the brass luster on the shield remains highly reflective with only the smallest bit of luster loss from the star's outer edge and not seen unless magnified. While we grade the white gold finish Mint, there is the slightest bend near the bottom of the left prong 3/8" back from the tip. This slight ripple in the metal is most subtle and minor. Overall, we grade the ring NM, but with the important quality of possessing the best white gold finish of all examples we've ever offered.
