Item Description
20.75x25-1/8" mat contains oversized vintage 15.25x19-1/8" high quality silver gelatin photo of American singer, actor, bandleader and radio host Rudy Vallée (1901-1986). Photo shows him crooning before NBC radio microphone during his tenure as one of the first modern pop stars of the teen idol type. Lower left has been boldly signed by noted entertainment photographer of the era Hal Phyle and lower right has been inscribed and signed in ink by Vallée, who writes "To Jack, One Of The Four Sincere Friends I Have. May I Never Fail You On The Air! Microphonically, R. Vallée" w/"April 10, 1931" date. Mat and photo are evenly aged w/some minor margin aging visible on photo, but not overly distracting. Fine/VF overall. Most likely the largest and nicest signed Vallée photo in existence. Comes with Hake's COA and Roger Epperson/REAL LOA.
