NORTHERN CALIFORNIA HISTORIC PIN-BACK BUTTONS 1896-1930s
These pin-back buttons tell the story of Northern California towns and cities in the late 19th and early 20th century. These communities symbolize the concept of American “manifest destiny” fulfilled and the local folks proudly celebrated their success with buttons. From 1890s gatherings of Native Sons & Daughters of the Golden West to the gold rush towns’ “Day’s of ‘49” celebrations and the scenic lushness of the far northern counties our consignor has assembled a wonderful collection combining Northern California history with beautiful, graphic pin-back buttons, including San Francisco’s 1915 Pan Pacific Exposition and the 1939 Golden Gate Exposition. The vast majority of these pin-backs are the sole examples Hake’s has offered in six decades.
