Item Description
7-7/8x9-7/8". Photograph by "Henszey & Co.". Caption also lists "E.S. Earley, Undertaker, South-East Corner Of Tenth And Green Streets, Philadelphia" as the company responsible for construction of the magnificently ornate hearse depicted. Hearse is pulled by a team of eight horses each with a well dressed man in top hat standing at its side. Coffin is clearly visible beneath the large canopy top at the rear. Additional officials can be seen in the foreground and at the rear of the hearse. Also pictured in background are two children and an African American male looking on. Rich sepia tone and striking contrast. VF.
