Item Description
10.5x17" with 5.25x6.75" opening. Albumen photo featuring jugate image of Grant and Colfax and text "Presidential Campaign Of 1868 'We Intend To Fight It Out On This Line If It Takes All Summer". At top a pair of eagles flank a small oval portrait of Washington. Original wooden period frame with intricate designs etched and painted giving the effect of being inlaid. Frame has minor chipping on lower right and left legs and overall light wear. Fine. Card has two 1" intersecting tears in mount in margin lower right not seen when placed in frame. Otherwise only minor toning typical of age. Fine. Scarce in this impressive large size.
