Item Description
The buttons and related are 5/8” to 2-3/16” with the pair of felts 5.5”. Group begins with age marked but still quite beautiful exceptionally early and exceptionally large button promoting “Henry H. Van Brunt Vehicles, Best On The Globe.” See related pocket mirror #634. This button has convex metal back and fixed metal bar pin. It is c. 1900 and in spite of the spotting still has high gloss and great color. Only about the third we’ve seen in any condition. Next are three pin-backs, with one on a felt pennant all for “Buick.” Next with 1917 date is for “Conestoga” trucks. Next is a “Dort” button on a felt. Next is the classic “Montgomery Ward & Co. Electric Horseless Carriage” button from 1898 and this is complete with its back paper. Couple tiny age marks on the reverse but only three tiny specks of age showing on top front edge. Next is figural stickpin for the “Mitchell.” Next with cello ribbons is for “Paige.” Next is enamel on brass watch fob for “Dodge Brothers.” Next is enamel on brass oval pin for “Dodge” with serial number “7835” on reverse. Last with threaded post and brass cap is emblem for “Chrysler.” All VF to NM with most displaying Mint and with the several exceptions as noted. A nice group.
