Item Description
Sizes are 1.5” to 2.5”. The first is an unusual piece comprised of a thick piece of brown leather stamped with a basketball design and black text “Boston Celtics” held to a green and white felt rosette with brass pin and maker label on reverse. This piece is from the 1950s era. Next are three “Working Press” buttons with dates between 1975 and 1977. The third one has a few age dots. Next is a “N.B.A. Champs” button dated 83-84. Next is a Boston radio promo with a few tiny age dots. Next three are for “Maine Day/Boston Garden” and these are dated for games in 1990, 1993 and 1994. Bottom row first item reads “Seattle Welcomes Bill Russell” and was issued when he joined the team as coach in 1973. Last item pictures M.L. Carr and was issued by the “Bank Of Boston” with him delivering an anti-drug message. He was a player 1979-1985 and became general manager in 1994 and then coached for two seasons. This button is c. 1994. Some light surface wear on the Russell button showing only in reflected light. Others are clean with small exceptions as noted. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
