Item Description
22.5x35.25" printed on thick newsprint stock. Features party logo consisting of a five-pointed red star with a green cannabis leaf superimposed. Text on poster refers to the new nation being formed by the YIPPIES. One horizontal fold and three vertical folds as issued. Light brown toning in third panel from left as a result of being the exposed area after folding. VF. The Yippie movement grew out of a meeting December 31, 1967 and was formed by Abbie and Anita Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Nancy Kurshan and Paul Krassner. They organized the Festival of Life during the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago and ran a pig for president that year. In 1976, their candidate was “Nobody.” A rare surviving artifact.
