Item Description
1.75” with W&H back paper. Wonderful scene of Shriner in fez and tuxedo, with tails flying in the wind, as he rides a galloping alligator steered by reins in his hands also holding a baton. Palm tree accent at right with left small image among clouds of the U.S. Capitol dome. Full text “Bound For Washington/From The Hot Sands Of Florida/Morocco Temple 1900.” There are a couple of pinpoint grey dots along the upper edge of the cream colored border but nothing that could be considered actual stain. Surface has almost no wear and very high gloss. A NM example displaying Mint of one of the best ever button designs. We’ve seen about three examples in five decades.
