Item Description
Nine of these 11 are from 1898 while the pair for Olympia are c. 1930s. One of these is a brass pin reading “Plank Owner U.S.S. Olympia.” Second reads “I’ve Been Aboard” showing the ship. This has tan age on the background with darker marks on the right rim. Group begins with a rare real photo button of Dewey with text “Welcome Home.” Other buttons all picture the Maine. Row 1 #3 has a few tiny pinpoint cuts. Row 2 #1 has a single faint grey dot while #4 in same row has a few faint grey dots. In row 3 #2 has tiny marks on extreme edge at three different places and last has light age in the upper quadrant. All have nice gloss. The scarcest of the Maine items is row 2 #1 issued by “The Boston Traveler” and with slogan “War Before Dishonor.”
