Item Description
The Superman daily comic strip began running in January 1939. It is very likely that this 1.5” rare button is from that year. Rim text says “Read Superman Daily In The Democrat.” We’ve seen only four examples. Two of those with multiple celluloid cracks sold between $325 and $1000. This example has only light small surface scratches in reflected light. It has perfect centering, full gloss and displays Mint. Surface is just a hair concave as made. Minor luster loss from the reverse metal back and collet. Rare and one of only two uncracked examples known to us. Franco Toscanini Collection.
