Item Description
Lot of four items awarded to Joseph Howard Berry, Jr. (1894–1976), a professional baseball second baseman and pinch runner, and an All-American football halfback. Berry was an All-American halfback for the University of Pennsylvania in 1916-1917. He later played parts of two MLB seasons in 1921 and 1922 for the New York Giants. Offered here are three figural football pendants, each .75" to about 1" wide. Smallest is vintage football pendant w/o text. Next is marked "P" (for University of Pennsylvania) and "1917." Back has "Fullback" position listed. Scattered wear to red text paint. Other pendant has "Dad Berry - Phila. De Molay - 1924" text. Scattered wear to text. These pendants are Fine-VF overall. Last piece is 1.5" dia. 14K gold medallion w/relief image of woman's face w/faceted stone in tiara. Gold weight is 18.3 grams. Raised "Millrose A.A." text at top. Reverse has incised "1 Mile Relay - Joseph Howard Berry Jr." text as well as small "14K" designation. Tiny manufacturer text below this is no longer legible. Medallion has some even aging w/nice patina on front. VF.
