Item Description
4.25x8" illustrated blister card contains 4.25" long replica of Batman's Batmobile, which mirrors Corgi's 1966 Batmobile almost exactly except slightly smaller and in plastic instead of die-cast metal. Made in Germany, c. 1966. Card features wonderful illustrations based on the "Batman" TV show, featuring Batman, Robin, Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman. The Batman image was taken from the classic "Life" magazine cover. Card has some fading and upper right has .25x.5" spot of price sticker residue. Unpunched w/some creasing at top where blister meets card. Blister bubble shows moderate wear along right, w/2.25" corner crack and some splits. Staples have oxidation. Card is Fine overall. Batmobile has built-in chain cutter saw on front end and appears to have same pulsating exhaust flame feature that Corgi models featured. Separate plastic Batman driver figure in cockpit. A switch appears behind Batman, but we are unsure of the function of this. Mint as packaged. As rare as any Batmobile we've ever offered, this is the only example known to us.
