Item Description
Pair of rolled 1945 posters. First is linen-mounted 28x28.25" half-sheet poster featuring beautiful women in elaborate outfits surrounded by performing leopards, black panthers, mountain lions, cheetahs, etc. Superior color and graphics by artist Bill Bailey. Bottom has attached date sheet for Aug. 2, 1945 performance at Chicago's Soldier Field. Top margin has some tape staining at corners and at center and side margins show some scattered aging. Date sheet has even aging and "1945" date written in pencil at top center. Poster has some minor scattered rippling as linen-mounted but if matted and framed, poster would displays VF. Comes w/20.5x28" poster w/art by Bill Bailey depicting a hippopotamus w/her calf, her head raised and mouth open. Poster has remnant of date sheet along bottom margin, but this does not affect main image greatly. Margins show scattered wear w/a few small tears and upper left has 1.5" archival tape repair on reverse to reattach piece. Displays Fine. Striking circus posters.
