Item Description
Lot of 13, including 12 plates, each 7" dia. and 9.5x9.75" open handled cake serving plate by Faiencerie d'Onnaing China Co. of France. 1936. Reverse of each piece has matching company mark including name "Faiencerie d'Onnaing" along w/"Walt Disney" name and all but two feature Mickey Mouse image on underside. Plates are numbered (serving plate is #1) and feature 3.5" dia. scene at center bordered by holly wreath. Serving plate features slightly larger 4.5" image. Characters shown include - Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck and Horace Horsecollar. Scenes include - skiing, airplane, canoe, car, ice skating, golf, sled, circus performance w/Mickey standing on one leg on bicycle, soccer, tennis, swimming, Alpine climbing and swing. Missing plates #10 and #15 from set. Each plate has concentric silver luster accent lines, these show scattered wear. Plate designs show lt. trace wear from use, but images remain mostly complete; swimming image showing wear, but this appears to be as made. Plates are free of chips/cracks and are VF overall.
