This and item #950 are from a set of 5 different 1.25" buttons issued in 1939. Each button has a serial number at the top. Likely the buttons were used in conjunction with a contest of some type with prizes to be awarded based on selected numbers. Each button has the name of the star along with text "M-G-M's Wizard Of Oz" and with maker's name Economy Novelty on bottom edge. No backpaper as issued. This button depicts "Judy Garland" and the serial number is "5514." Design is just a hair off-center to the upper right by about 1/32" and in reflected light there are just barely visible surface hairlines along right edge of her face plus one 1/16" air dot on right edge. All defects are very minor and do not show at all with normal viewing. Full strong color and high gloss. Displays Mint. About the fourth we've offered in 39 years. Rare.
