Item Description
Linen-mounted 27.5x40" one-sheet featuring wonderful full body graphic of "The Most Startling Discovery Of The Century - Princess Mu Kaun Royal Padaung" the "Giraffe-Neck Woman From Burma." Mu Kaun was of the Kayan Lahwi people of Burma. The term "Padaung" refers to women of the Kayan Lahwi who practice neck elongation by wearing a series of brass coils around their necks. Poster features a close-up profile of Mu Kaun in addition to her full body image. "Positively Appearing In Main Performances Of The Big Show" text appears next to her image. Printed by Central Ptg. and Illinois Litho Co. c. 1933. Small penciled date at top left. Poster was folded and has had some scattered professional restoration/color touch-ups, which blend nicely. As linen-mounted, vast majority of repairs are only noticeable upon close inspection. 1-3/8x2.5" spot of slight darkening at center, between Mu Kuan's images. Poster is o/w clean and still displays VF/Exc. Wonderful graphics. Fred Hoffman Collection.
