Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains 19" long "Ready-To-Run Steam Powered Model Boat." Atwood Motors, 1950s. At least partly inspired by the 1951 Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn film "The African Queen," box lid features image of "Congo Launch" boat sailing down river from an African village. Box has moderate edge/corner tip wear and age fading to box bottom, but box retains its shape and is Fine overall. Comes w/original illustrated instruction manual which notes toy sold for $7.95. Thin plastic boat features boiler engine, funnel, dry fuel tank and fuel pellets as well as movable rudder. Boiler has slight discoloration w/small spot of oxidation on one side, o/w VF.
