Auction #185 - Part II
Item numbers 946 through 2530 in auction 185
Item Description
This 2.25" button was produced for the Massachusetts "Fore River" ship building yard during WWII and includes the slogan "Ships For 'V'ictory." At the center is an insignia-like design in Disney style cartoon art showing a turtle on roller skates wearing a working man's hat and glove carrying an I-beam under one arm and a carton marked "Rush" under the other arm. Outer edges have some scattered but small spots along with a couple below the turtle's head but about 90% of the piece is clean and all remains glossy. There is no artist or maker's name. Only example we've seen and from the Hake collection. Rare.
